The Art of Chill (In Person in Grass Valley)
3 hours. 3 teachers. Join Bex, Erin, and Mandy for a myofascial deep dive into the heart of your downregulated nervous system. Learn to sense and feel your body in new ways, through yoga asana, somatic anatomy, and a variety of myofascial release techniques. You’ll leave with a better understanding of your connective tissue, including fascia and its role in the musculoskeletal system, and strategies for keeping it nourished, comfortable, and supple. Learning to tune into the mind of your connective tissue as a meshwork of sensation, support, and lubrication is a wonderful way to deepen your understanding of your body and your movement. Rollers and therapy balls will be provided for the duration of class. Space is limited, so advance registration is highly recommended.

Soma Nidra // Self-Knowing: Eukaryotic You (In Person in Berkeley, CA)
This workshop explores the communicative capacities of our nervous and endocrine systems across local, global, and relational scales.
The evening is part of Soma Nidra: Body Tripping through the Communities of You, a series of multi-scale body trips in a monthly workshop format. These trips explore your embodied anatomy through gentle movement, Yin and Restorative Yoga, and Soma Nidra. Soma Nidra is Bex Naj’s somatic approach to Yoga Nidra, a practice that bridges our conscious and unconscious minds through storytelling and deep rest. Bex keeps it somatic by grounding the stories she tells in the felt-sense awareness of your body and breath as dynamic processes. Over the course of the series, we’ll explore our inner space through the body maps of western anatomy, physiology, and embryology, integrating these into an energetic practice that allows us to melt away tension, rest deeply, and illuminate the mysterious places within to see what they have to say. These classes are appropriate for all levels of yoga and will often feature drawing and/or journaling prompts to integrate the dreamlike wisdom of your bodied revelations.

Ecstatic Chill 4.3: Invert (Livestream and Replay)
In our third Ecstatic Chill class of 2025, we’ll keep up the delightful disorientation of learning to go upside down. One thing that sets yoga apart from other physical disciplines is inverting, and headstand is sometimes called the king of yoga postures.
There are also valuable metabolic and lymphatic effects from inverting, particularly in the spring when we are wringing some of the stagnancy of winter out of our bodies.
Ecstatic Chill is a monthly Vinyasa Flow + Yin + Restorative Yoga mini workshop in a monthly subscription or drop-in format. Each Ecstatic Chill class begins with a somatic exploration and a vinyasa flow warm up, builds to a crescendo, then melts into longer-held poses, lots of rest, and centering breathwork (prāṇāyāma). We’ll explore intermediate and challenging poses in generative tension with restful ones, allowing ourselves to be supported as we redefine what it means to go deep. Though intermediate poses will be offered, this class is appropriate for all levels.
