In this class, we’ll roll out our entire bodies, spending extra time on our arms, hands, necks, shoulders, and upper backs, sensing and feeling the continuities of tissue which unite them. This is a way to go deeper if you’ve done workshops with me in the past including Somatic Foam Rolling Deep Dive, Foam Rolling 101, and Whole Body Roll + Release, but newcomers are also welcome! At the beginning I’ll briefly discuss the interwovenness of your muscles, connective tissue, and nervous system, and how foam rolling works with your tissues to create new mobility and movement choices. Then we’ll dive right in and get rolling to experience it first-hand (pun intended).
Whether you’re an avid roller or a noob, you’ll leave this workshop feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, with self-massage techniques for pain relief, healthy mobility, and ease in your daily movement, yoga practice and beyond. Foam rolling promotes flexibility, lessens soreness and stiffness, and stimulates blood flow. It keeps your connective tissue nourished, comfortable, and supple, and supports functional mobility.

Here’s what you’ll need:
(1) foam roller (36” is best, but shorter is ok if you already own it)
(2) tennis, lacrosse, therapy, or pinky balls in a mesh bag or a sock
(1) 8-9” pilates ball
(1) OPTP Soft Release Ball
