In our ninth monthly Ecstatic Chill class of 2023, weāll explore the king of yoga poses: headstand. Weāll do a ton of detailed prep work for our necks, shoulders, upper backs, core canisters, and arms to make the pose maximally accessible. This will include volumizing breathwork and postures like navÄsana (boat pose), tri pada adho mukha ÅvanÄsana (three-legged downward facing dog), Å«rdhva prasÄrita eka padÄsana (standing split), and ardha pinca mayÅ«rÄsana (dolphin pose). Weāll also end with more work on sÄlamba sarvangÄsana (supported shoulderstand), because in general headstand shouldnāt be practiced without shoulderstand to mitigate any potential neck and shoulder tension we might accrue.
