Ecstatic Chill 3.6: Falling (Sun 6/30/24 3-4:30pm PT / 6-7:30 pm ET, Livestream + Replay)

In our sixth monthly Ecstatic Chill class of 2023, we’ll explore deep twisting postures like parivṛtta parśvakonāsana (rotated side angle), and ardha matsyendrāsana (half lord of the fishes pose), culminating in one of my favorite arm balances, devadūta pannāsana (fallen angel pose). Through our arm balancing practice we’ll investigate at the importance of small falls, or leaps of faith, as places of the emergence of new patterns in developmental movement, and in our adult movement practices and relationships.

This class will move us deep spring into summer. Though all yoga postures are cleansing to some degree, twisting poses bear particular poetic resonance with the experience of wringing out stale energy as part of seasonal yogic practice in yoga’s sister science Ayurveda.
